Paramount Pictures has released the first full trailer for SCREAM 6, and this Ghostface is unlike the others. We knew we were in for something different when the story moved to the Big Apple, but we needed to prepare for this. Ghostface appears brazen in their attacks as they're systematically dispatching random customers and anyone who gets between their prime target.
We're also seeing the return of Kirby Reed (Hayden Panettiere), the fan favorite from the 4th installment, which was teased as surviving her run-in with the masked killer in Scream 5. Courtney Cox is returning from the old guard as Gale Weathers, and Skeet Ulrich will return as Billy. Newcomers to the franchise Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera also return to survive another encounter. Samara Weaving (Ready or Not) has also joined the cast.
Of course, the elephant in the room is the lack of Neve Campbell's 'Sidney Prescott,' who has been the face of the franchise since the beginning. She exited the film due to pay disputes last year, and Campbell felt the offer presented to her needed to equate the value she has brought to the franchise.
Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who directed the fifth film in the franchise, return to helm the project from a script written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick. They assure the fans that they're going all out this time and insist it will be one hundred times gorier.
